Social Square presents "It vs. You"

Published on July 30 2010

Social Square presents its latest demo EP, « It vs. You », published on jamendo last month. In 3 tracks, the band gives its best with a concentrated punch rock’n’roll. Recorded in Paris and mastered in Seattle, these pieces can hold their head high compared to british bands, driven by the voice of the American singer of the band.

The band was created in Paris, on Chistmas Eve 2005, from the meeting of 3 musicians: Bazman (bass guitar) and Pat (guitar and vocals), joined later on by Faez, the drummer of two Parisian bands Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Toxic Sonic. Drawing its love from independent British rock of the 90’s, the musicians combine noisy atmospheres and harmonic sensitivity, rowdy guitars and melodic vocals, with an inspiration coming from bands such as Pixies, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkings or Sonic Youth.

One of the main distinctive characteristics of Social Square comes from his will to avoid the easy ways and to go always further in creativity. It results in a perfectly mastered saturation, wisely arranged breaks and beautiful flights of dramatic guitar.  Nothing can blur the pleasure that comes naturally from tracks like «Walk In Your Shoes», «No One Knows» and «It Vs. You».

Always willing to share its energy on stage, the band sets foot on the main Parisian rock halls during its first years (Batofar, Flèche d’Or, Réservoir, Glazart...).

Until you go to see Social Square on stage, listen to its latest project or discover (again) its first productions « No Help from Here » and « So Cold »
